Jon's Growing Up!

Jon's Big Night Posted by Hello
Well, tonight is the Transition's Dinner & Dance, a celebration from leaving middle school & going into High School. Yes, I am now officially the parent of a freshman. Jon met up with Joel at his house, Joel was decked out in a tuxedo, and Brother Red was driving them to the dance. I will be picking them up. The two of them looked so awesome! Joel told Jon he thought he was Blaine when he first saw him. Jon loved that, he really looks up to Blaine so it was a really cool thing to say. I went out & bought each of them a disposable camera & told them they had to get a picture of the kids from the youth group all together. I hope they have a night that they will never forget!
Back to having a freshman, they got out of school today at 12:15. I watched the clock from twenty til and got all teary eyed when I told the girls that Jon was now in High School. It gets so sad knowing that he is growing up so fast, but you know, it sure is fun living all these new, exciting times with him. He makes me proud!

I CAN'T WAIT!!

At the beginning of the year, my grandma told me that my 2 uncles & cousin would be coming to Baton Rouge for a bowling tournament. THEY ARE FINALLY HERE!!! Well, not actually in Baton Rouge, but they will be tomorrow. They ended up bringing my Aunts, my cousin's friend, and what a surprise, my Grandma! So, since they had 6 people, they didn't take me up on staying at my house. And since they love to gamble at the casinos the only sensible thing to them was to get free rooms at a casino in New Orleans! I guess they gamble so much, they have racked up points for a free room, go figure! So tomorrow afternoon, I will actually be visiting with my family, it has been 2 years & I can't wait!!!! I better bring the tissues! Rachel has been sick all weekend & I don't think she will be well enough to go to school. HHHMMMM, I think I will stay home & cook a big gumbo, some Jambalaya, crawfish etouffe and maybe a pecan pie. I hope time stands still!

Oh, tell me what you want!

I think I must be getting wierder with age, well, actually I know I am and I don't know why. But, everything just seems so funny to me and it is usually really goofy stuff. It sort of scares me, but it is also nice knowing that it takes ALOT to make me mad.
Tonight we cut through Shenandoah & there was a car going really slow, talking to a man who had been jogging. Immediately I'm like, look kids they're filming that funny commercial! I really wanted to roll down the windows and the 3 of us start singing.....Oh, tell me what you want, what you really, really want.....
Wouldn't that have been a hoot! Of course, my kids would have killed me! Besides, they were probably too busy jogging every night and not watching tv that they would've maced us!
