Oh how I miss my Grandma! Posted by Hello
This picture was sent to David & it really made me laugh. I'm sure my Grandma would have been laughing too. We used to drive down to Cincinatti to pick up my Aunt Pat, aka: Sister Margaret John. We would have the best time at the church & the nuns would all take turns showing us their collections. She would come for a week in the summer & for 2 days we would shuck corn, cook it, take it off of the cob & freeze it. There was nothing better in the middle of winter than our corn! It never seemed like a chore, we would talk, work & laugh. Oh, how I miss those days, my grandparents & my sweet Aunt Pat.

I Love Hanging out with Jon!

Last night, Jon & I volunteered to serve dinner at the Blue & Gold Banquet. He could receive service hours for Boy Scouts, but overall, we just thought it would be a nice thing to do--let the parents enjoy the night. So here we are serving over 200 meals & having so much fun. At one point, I think Jon caught my finger when he went to take a plate from me and the salad spilled into the jambalaya. He said, "Oh no, we seem to have a mishap." I went, what?, he goes, "We need a clean up in Aisle 5." All the women just laughed. He has such a dry sense of humor, he makes me laugh.
Then on the way home, we were talking about disciple now. I think we plan to make a dummy out of old clothes & boat it across the river to put on the bank in the woods. We're planning on trying to get a watermelon or some type of big fruit, vegetable for the head. During our free time, we are using Brother Robert's potato launcher & we'll try to hit the dummy. I was thinking that we would need someone on the other side since it is so far away, to try to film this explosion. But, we would probaby end up killing the other dummy in the boat filming!!

Oh the Wonders of Epsom Salt

I can find humor in just about everything! The other night my feet were really hurting so I decided to try soaking them in Epsom Salt. I had never used this natural wonder and just assumed it was for sprained, tired muscles & joints. Well I start reading the directions and find out that you can drink the stuff to relieve constipation! I never would have imagined this. So off I go with a towel & tub of hot water, just sitting there soaking my feet watching tv.....and as usual my mind starts to wander and I start laughing so hard that my daughter thinks I am totally nuts. You see, I'm a morning person, I have no problem what so ever leaving dirty dishes & junk on the table & getting up early in the morning & cleaning up. I am very cheerful in the morning. Well, I'm sitting there thinking, you know I don't feel like cleaning this up, maybe I'll leave it for in the morning. Then I think of our dogs! Although they are small, I'm sure there would have been a huge mess in the morning because I know they would love to drink my stinky feet water! There would have been land mines everywhere! Once I shared this thought with Rachel, we went through a bunch of what ifs & laughed hysterically. Yes, we're definitely a goofy family but we seem to laugh alot!
By the way, I had to read up on this Epsom Salt, come to find out it is high in magnesium which so many of us lack. This stuff is unbelievable. You can soak in it & it is absorbed through the skin. Just a few things that it does: softens your skin, lowers your blood pressure, helps the circulatory system, lessens the severity of diabetes & helps with calcium levels in your blood--you see, if you take calcium tablets & are low in magnesium, it defeats the purpose. They even had alot of facial scrubs that you can make. Pretty cool stuff, this Epsom Salt! Oh yeah, it was discovered in Epsom, England.
