How Easily Amused I Am!

I always seem to enjoy March Madness at work. You see, the general manager always holds a contest for the route drivers, I'm sorry, that is our service sales representatives (SSR's). It's pretty stupid and ends up being so much more work that I have to do. Actually, the first year I worked at Cintas, I was pretty bitter about it. How can the girls in the office have so much work, corporate cutbacks, and the men have time to play?! And, the gm is so naive to the way they win $$ from this contest. You see, they have to have direct sales. So for every $ amount they sell, they get so many shots with a kids basketball hoop to win $. It's so goofy because it is not sales that run through their book that they get paid commission on also. It is any direct sale they place. The men are so lazy, yet so greedy, that they place these orders, get credit for the contest, then when it comes in they return it. I have so many "return didn't fit" returns that are unopened. My job, the returns....lots of work, that's where the bitterness would come into play. Pile on more work for me, you play & make $...go figure! But, three years later, I just laugh about it...I mean the management men have this cave man attitude & they will never be changed and the women must be kept in their places. It's quite humorous.
Now, the whole point of my story...sorry for the rambling on & on. I always love to hide the ball. It's been quit funny. Now I don't do this every day so it really throws them off. They have figured out it is me, so when they get desperate, they come begging. They're almost like drug addicts that just need it NOW!!! The best place that I've hidden the ball this year, & I finally had to tell them where it was, was the funniest. I taped the ball, with packing tape- from my returns (ha ha) -behind the basketball goal. It was great, they walked behind the goal & still never saw it. The last place I hid it was pretty funny, but so easy. I taped it to the side of the drinking fountain. All the ladies in the office were laughing at me & saying how goofy I was...true but it still makes me laugh. And working in corporate America, you definitely need to be able to laugh at things! And go to church on Wednesdays!

that's completely hilarious. you might want to deflate the ball one day and let them find it that way.

Thanks, Brother Robert! I'll definitely have to do that & maybe tape it to the ceiling! I'll give it more thought on where to tape it. They have a small Sponge Bob ball now, maybe 4" diameter. I think I might replace it with a really pink Barbie ball.
